Doomsday Clock: A Reflection on 2280

A reflection on the calculation of 2280, the season, the day and the hour.

PART ONE

What is the 3rd day Jesus referred to when he said, “I will return on the 3rd day”? When does it begin? We know from the Quran that Doomsday will take place in the year 2280. So which season, which day, which hour? Now let us look at these, GOD willing.

The Quran tells us about Jesus, and his birth and death are markers for us. Let us now look.

[32:5] All matters are controlled by Him, from the heaven to the earth. To Him, a day is equivalent to one thousand of your years.

We know that years in the Quran are according to the lunar calendar. Thus, 1000 lunar years are equivalent to 970 solar years.

In Luke 3:22, Jesus will return on the 3rd day. THEREFORE:

The 3rd day after Jesus left this world at the age of 33.

Therefore, beginning with 1974, we are in the 3rd day Jesus spoke of. (The year in which the Quran miracle was discovered.)

THE FINAL 3RD DAY BEGAN AS OF 1974. IN OUR OWN LANGUAGE, WE CAN ALSO CALL THIS THE END TIMES.

PART TWO

Now let us come to some markers from the verses in the Quran that state how many days and how many hours the disbelievers remained in this world:

As you can see above, let us add together these stated days and hours.

PART THREE

Now let us understand in which season the Hour will come, GOD willing.

Our Lord has given such clear evidence on this subject that I will list it for you, GOD willing.

THE WORD ‘ISHAR’ (MEANS A 10-MONTH-PREGNANT CAMEL.)

• In verse 81:4 of the Quran, the meaning ‘WHEN BREEDING IS HALTED’ also means “when the pregnant camels are abandoned.” The Arabic word “ishar” is used in this verse. This word “ishar” corresponds in the Arab world to a female camel that is ten months pregnant. Remember, we can even understand from here why the Quran says, “Why do they not look at how the camels are created?” IN OTHER WORDS; when the Hour comes, even this 10-month-pregnant camel, which is extremely important to Arab society, will be abandoned.
• When the Hour comes, a 10-month-pregnant camel is abandoned.
• The mating season of Arabian camels is the winter season. In addition, there is the matter of the 10-month pregnancy.
• A 10-month-pregnant camel in the autumn season (after winter). (It corresponds to September.)

In other words, the end of the world will come in the autumn season.

[88:17] Why do they not reflect deeply on the camels and how they are created?

• Secondly, we know that Jesus serves, in every sense, as a marker for us concerning the period of Doomsday.
• We can now better understand why the date palm appears so often in the Quran in connection with harvest. (In the Arabian Peninsula, dates are a prominent harvest fruit.) First, the birth of Jesus is also a marker; remember that while Mary was giving birth to Jesus beneath the date palm tree, she was told to shake the tree and eat the fruit that fell.

[19:23] The birth process came to her by the trunk of a palm tree. She said, “(I am so ashamed;) I wish I had died before this happened and been completely forgotten.”

[19:25] “If you shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will drop ripe dates for you.*”

*19:25 From this, Jesus was born in late September or early October. This is the time in the Middle East when dates become ripe enough to fall from the tree.

As Rashad Khalifa also stated in his footnote to 19:25, in the Arabian Peninsula the period when dates ripen is at the end of September. I had already stated in the sections above that it had to be after September 23 (the equinox).

In other words, the end of the world will come in the autumn season.

As another example, we can understand why our Lord gave the example of the garden owners (68:17).

[68:17] We tested them like we tested the owners of a garden who swore that they would harvest it in the morning.

[68:18] They were so absolutely sure.

[68:19] While they were asleep, a passing storm from your Lord passed by it.

[68:20] By morning, it was barren.

[68:21] In the morning, they called on one another.

[68:22] “Let us harvest the crop.”

[68:23] On the way, they confided in one another.

[68:24] From that moment on, none of them would be poor.

[68:25] They were so absolutely sure of their harvest.

[68:26] But when they saw it, they said, “We were so wrong!

[68:27] “Now, we have nothing!”

From here, the situation becomes even clearer immediately with verse 3:117.

[3:117] The example of their achievements in this life is like a violent wind that strikes the harvest of people who have wronged their souls and wipes it out. GOD never wronged them; they wronged their own souls.

As can be seen, I have presented the signs concerning the disbelievers’ concepts of hour and day, the garden harvest, and the camels.

PART FOUR

Now let us look at the day and the hour.

[34:30] Say, “You have a specific day at a specific time that you cannot delay by one hour, nor advance.”

• There are only 2 religious days mentioned in the Quran: Friday and Saturday (SABBATH).

[10:24] The analogy of this worldly life is this: We send down water from the sky to produce with it all kinds of plants from the earth, providing food for people and animals. Then, while the earth is perfectly adorned and its people think that they are in control of it, our judgment comes by night or by day,* leaving it completely barren, as if nothing had existed the day before. We thus explain the revelations for people who reflect deeply.

*10:24 GOD, of course, knows whether His judgment will come during the day or during the night. But notice that when the end of the world comes, the earth will be half day and half night. Another “scientific miracle” of the Quran.

• In other words, half of the world will be Friday and the other half Saturday. In Mecca and Jerusalem, immediately after sunset on Friday, the regions farther east will, according to the Quran, have entered Saturday. (Every day-night cycle is related to sunrise and sunset.)
• In other words, it is sunset (not night); that is, they will be resurrected on Saturday.

The Sabbath Day Is Abolished

[16:124] The Sabbath Day was decreed only for those who eventually disputed about it (Jews & Christians). Your Lord is the One who will judge them on the Day of Resurrection concerning their disputes.

[36:48] They also challenge: “When will this promise come true, if you are truthful?”

[36:49] All they will see is a single blow that will crush them while they are arguing. [36:50] They will not even have time to leave a will, nor will they be able to return to their people.

[36:51] The horn will be blown, whereupon they will rise from the grave and go to their Lord.

[36:52] They will say, “Woe to us. Who resurrected us from our death? This is what the Most Gracious had promised. The messengers were right.”

[36:53] All it takes is a single blow, whereupon they are all brought before us.

PART FIVE

• We can now calculate which one of the last 19 Fridays of the year 2280 it is. (It will occur before the year 2280 ends.)
• The Quran reminds us of the phase of the moon at that time. Most of the phases of the moon coincide with Friday. We now know that on the night when the Night of Destiny begins, the moon is a new moon, meaning that when you look at the sky it cannot be seen. At dawn, however, it is in the crescent phase.
• According to astronomical calculations, in the last week of September 2280, the new moon (the first formation of the crescent / conjunction position) will occur on the night of Friday, September 24, 2280.
• According to the longitudes of Mecca and Jerusalem, the religious and geographical details of this natural event are as follows:
• Astronomical time: The new moon phase will reach its exact conjunction position at around 19:16 in Universal Time (UT) on the evening of Friday, September 24 (22:16 local time in Mecca and Jerusalem).

The 2280th verse of the Quran is 19:32, followed by the next verse:

[19:33] “And peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I am resurrected alive.”

(19:15) Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he is brought back to life.

(19:33) “And peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I am resurrected alive.”

Including both verses, there are exactly 19 verses.

The 2280th verse from the beginning of the Quran, excluding the Basmalah, corresponds to 19:15.

Including the Basmalah, it is 19:32; the following verse concerns resurrection.

APPENDIX 25 — END OF THE WORLD

[72:27] Only to a messenger that He chooses,* does He reveal from the past and the future, specific news.*

Among the duties charged to me as GOD’s Messenger of the Covenant is unveiling the end of the world (Page 415). We learn from 18:7-8 and 69:13-15 that this world will come to an end. A new earth and new heavens will replace the present heavens and earth (14:48).

Verses Stating That This World Will End

[18:7] We have adorned everything on earth, in order to test them, and thus distinguish those among them who work righteousness.

[18:8] Inevitably, we will wipe out everything on it, leaving it completely barren.*

[69:13] When the horn is blown once.

[69:14] The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed.

[69:15] That is the day when the inevitable event will come to pass.

[14:48] The day will come when this earth will be substituted with a new earth, and also the heavens, and everyone will be brought before GOD, the One, the Supreme.

The Quran provides many signs, and states that the means for unveiling the end of the world have been given (47:18). The signs given in the Quran include:

[47:18] Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come.* Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message?

Signs of the Approaching End of the World

1. The Splitting of the Moon

1. The splitting of the moon: This already happened in June 1969 when we landed on the moon and brought back moon rocks. People on earth can go now to many museums, colleges and observatories to look at pieces of the moon.

Note: Appendix 25 does not give a separate verse number for this item, so no new verse reference has been added here.

2. Discovering the Quran’s 19-based mathematical code (74:30-37): Fulfilled in 1969-1974.

[74:30] Over it is nineteen.*

[74:31] We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts, and the disbelievers; they will say, “What did GOD mean by this allegory?” GOD thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He. This is a reminder for the people.

[74:32] Absolutely, (I swear) by the moon.

[74:33] And the night as it passes.

[74:34] And the morning as it shines.

[74:35] This is one of the great miracles.*

[74:36] A warning to the human race.

[74:37] For those among you who wish to advance, or regress.

3. The Creature

3. The creature (27:82): “Made from the earth, it alerts the people that they have been oblivious to their Creator.” The Creature, made from the earth, did appear and was instrumental in unveiling the Quran’s numerical code, and proclaiming that the world has neglected GOD’s message; the creature is the computer. Note that the digits that make up 27:82 add up to 19.

[27:82] At the right time, we will produce for them a creature, made of earthly materials, declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations.

4. Appearance of GOD’s Messenger of the Covenant

4. Appearance of GOD’s Messenger of the Covenant (3:81): As detailed in Appendix 2, a consolidating messenger, prophesied in the Quran, comes after all the prophets have delivered the scriptures, to purify and unify. This prophecy was fulfilled in Ramadan 1408.

[3:81] GOD took a covenant from the prophets, saying, “I will give you the scripture and wisdom. Afterwards, a messenger will come to confirm all existing scriptures. You shall believe in him and support him.” He said, “Do you agree with this, and pledge to fulfill this covenant?” They said, “We agree.” He said, “You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you.”

5. The Smoke

5. The Smoke (44:10): occurs after GOD’s Messenger of the Covenant has delivered the unified message and proclaimed Islam (Submission) as the only religion acceptable by GOD.

[44:10] Therefore, watch for the day when the sky brings a profound smoke.*

6. Gog and Magog

6. Gog and Magog: they re-appear, in accordance with GOD’s plan, in the year 1700 AH (2271 AD). Gog and Magog are mentioned in 18:94 and 21:96. If you count the verses from 18:94 to the end of Sura 18, you find them 17. If you count the verses from 21:96 to the end of Sura 21, you find them also 17. This is the Quran’s sign that Gog and Magog will re-appear in 1700 AH.

[18:94] They said, “O Zul-Qarnain, Gog and Magog are corruptors of the earth. Can we pay you to create a barrier between us and them?”

[21:96] Not until Gog and Magog reappear,* will they then return—they will come from every direction.

It Will Not Remain Hidden [20:15]

Verse 15 of Sura 20 informs us that the end of the world will be revealed by GOD before it occurs; Sura 15, Verse 87, gives the time for that event:

[20:15] “The Hour (end of the world) is surely coming; I will keep it almost hidden. For each soul must be paid for its works.

Appendix 25 then considers 15:85-87 together:

[15:85] We did not create the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, except for a specific purpose. The end of the world will come, so treat them with benign neglect.

[15:86] Your Lord is the Creator, the Omniscient.

[15:87] We have given you the seven pairs, and the great Quran.

The seven pairs are the 14 Quranic Initials. The total gematrical value of these profound pillars of the Quran’s miracle pinpoints the year of the end of the world. It is noteworthy that Verse 85 of Sura 15 states: “The end of the world will surely come to pass.” The next verse, 15:86, tells us that GOD is the Creator of this world, and, of course, He knows when it will end. The following verse, 15:87, tells us when the world will end. As shown in Table 1, the gematrical values of “The Seven Pairs” of Quranic Initials total 1709 (see also Table 1 of Appendix 1). According to 15:87, the world will survive for 1709 lunar years from the time this prophecy is stated in the Quran. This means that the world will end in the year 1710 AH. This number is a multiple of 19; 1710 = 19 × 90.

Total Gematrical Value of “The Seven Pairs” of Quranic Initials

The 309-Year Connection

The unveiling of this information took place in the year 1400 AH, 309 years before the prophesied end of the world (1709 - 1400 = 309). The number 309 is a Quranic number (18:25), and is connected with the end of the world (18:21). The peculiar way of writing 309 in 18:25, “Three hundred years, increased by nine,” indicates that the 309 are lunar years. The difference between 300 solar years and 300 lunar years is 9 years.

[18:25] They stayed in their cave three hundred years, increased by nine.*

[18:21] We caused them to be discovered, to let everyone know that GOD’s promise is true, and to remove all doubt concerning the end of the world.* The people then disputed among themselves regarding them. Some said, “Let us build a building around them.” Their Lord is the best knower about them. Those who prevailed said, “We will build a place of worship around them.”

The 2280 Calculation

The year of this discovery, 1400 AH, coincided with 1980 AD, and 1980 plus 300 solar years is 2280, also a multiple of 19, 19 × 120. Thus the world ends in 1710 AH, 19 × 90, which coincides with 2280 AD, 19 × 120. For the disbelievers who do not accept these powerful Quranic proofs, the end of the world will come suddenly (6:31, 6:44, 6:47; 7:95, 7:187; 12:107; 21:40, 22:55; 26:202; 29:53; 39:55; 43:66; and 47:18).

Verses Stating That the End Will Come Suddenly

[6:31] Losers indeed are those who disbelieve in meeting GOD, until the Hour comes to them suddenly, then say, “We deeply regret wasting our lives in this world.” They will carry loads of their sins on their backs; what a miserable load!

[6:44] When they thus disregard the message given to them, we open for them the gates of everything. Then, just as they rejoice in what was given to them, we punish them suddenly; they become utterly stunned.

[6:47] Say, “What if GOD’s retribution came to you suddenly, or after an announcement, is it not the wicked who incur annihilation?”

[7:95] Then we substituted peace and prosperity in place of that hardship. But alas, they turned heedless and said, “It was our parents who experienced that hardship before prosperity.” Consequently, we punished them suddenly when they least expected.

[7:187] They ask you about the end of the world (the Hour),* and when it will come to pass. Say, “The knowledge thereof is with my Lord. Only He reveals its time.* Heavy it is, in the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you except suddenly.”** They ask you as if you are in control thereof. Say, “The knowledge thereof is with GOD,” but most people do not know.

[12:107] Have they guaranteed that an overwhelming retribution from GOD will not strike them, or the Hour will not come to them suddenly, when they least expect it?

[21:40] Indeed, it will come to them suddenly, and they will be utterly stunned. They can neither avoid it, nor can they receive any respite.

[22:55] As for those who disbelieve, they will continue to harbor doubts until the Hour comes to them suddenly, or until the retribution of a terrible day comes to them.

[26:202] It will come to them suddenly, when they least expect it.

[29:53] They challenge you to bring the retribution! If it were not for a predetermined appointment, the retribution would have come to them immediately.* Certainly, it will come to them suddenly, when they least expect it.

[39:55] And follow the best path that is pointed out for you by your Lord, before the retribution overtakes you suddenly when you least expect it.

[43:66] Are they waiting for the Hour (Day of Judgment) to come to them suddenly when they least expect it?

[47:18] Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come.* Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message?

Historical Note: The Quranic Initials

While Hadith is forbidden as a source of religious teachings (Appendix 19), it can be a useful source of history. We can derive a lot of information about historical events and local customs and traditions during the early centuries of Islam. The books of Hadith indicate that the Quranic Initials were believed to determine the life span of the Muslim Ummah. The classic exegesis by Al-Baydaawy cites the following historical event as a possible explanation of the Quranic Initials. The same event is detailed in Al-Suyooty’s ITQAAN, First Printing, 1318 AH, Vol 2, Page 10:

The Jews of Medina went to the Prophet and said, “Your Quran is initialed with A.L.M., and these Initials determine the life span of your religion. Since ‘A’ is 1, ‘L’ is 30, and ‘M’ is 40, this means that your religion will survive only 71 years.” Muhammad said, “We also have A.L.M.S.” They said, “The ‘A’ is 1, the ‘L’ is 30, the ‘M’ is 40, and the ‘S’ is 90. This adds up to 161. Do you have anything else?” The Prophet said, “Yes, A.L.M.R.” They said, “This is longer and heavier; the ‘A’ is 1, ‘L’ is 30, ‘M’ is 40, and ‘R’ is 200, making the total 271.” They finally gave up, saying, “We do not know how many of these Initials he was given!”

Although this narration is well known, many scholars have been reluctant to accept the unmistakable connection between the Quranic Initials and the end of the world. They could not bring themselves to deal with this subject for the simple reason that the calculation makes the end of the world, and judgment, a reality.
